Kaggle competition for Point Blank

Hi guys,

We’ve been thinking of hosting a competition for PB members on Kaggle.

So what is a Kaggle competition anyway?

You’ll be given a problem to solve just like a CP problem. You’ll also be given a dataset. Instead of application of just algorithms, you’ll need to apply machine learning models, and the models will be tested against some test data, the most accurate model wins.

Sounds confusing? Here’s an example: Titanic - Machine Learning from Disaster | Kaggle With data about the Titanic, build a predictive model that answers the question: “what sorts of people were more likely to survive?” using passenger data (ie name, age, gender, socio-economic class, etc).

Currently we plan on hosting a long contest (24-48 hours) so there’s no short term submission pressure. People interested in Machine Learning, AI, NLP etc will also learn about the Kaggle Platform by using it (they too have competitions like CodeChef, CodeForces etc).

Would you like to have such a contest?
